Engineering Intern – plastic injection molding

Seabrook Plastics is looking for an Engineering Intern to join our Engineering team.  The qualified intern must bring technical skills, a passion to learn and improve, along with an enthusiastic personality.

Engineering Intern Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with Process Technicians and Engineering to develop the most robust process on new and current molds
  • Utilizes gate freeze study, viscosity curve, de-coupled molding techniques, DOE’s, etc.
  • Works with secondary equipment to establish the most robust process
  • Programs and troubleshoots robotics/vision systems
  • Performs capability/time studies and implement improvements
  • Develops and maintains job books and work instructions
  • Develops and maintains Process Flow, PFMEA’s and assists with Control Plan maintenance
  • Creates and updates Process Variables and Process Monitoring sheets
  • Reviews completed Process Monitor sheets to identify and update any changes occurring before filing
  • Works with teams on continuous improvement projects that reduce scrap and improve quality
  • Ability to perform quoting activities

Engineering Intern Requirements:

  • Good communication skills to respond to Seabrook team members, clients, and/or customers
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as statistics
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
